I love re-using packaging and turning them into free, usable containers. I also started collecting magazines for their vibrant color spreads. So when I was trying to figure out what to do with this cereal box from Costco, I took out my pile of blue magazine paper to match the theme in this room.

How to Make Plastic Straw Penguins

Found this scan from the summer of 2005, when I was in Taiwan and a local artist selling plastic straw penguins showed me how he makes them. I wrote up these instructions for our arts and crafts workshop at TAF that year. Click the image to see enlarged version.
